KRONOS

PRE-MIXED, MEDIUM/FAST DRYING SCREED

KRONOS is Edilteco's pre-mixed sand-cement screed for high-performance indoor and outdoor floors. It replaces site-batched screed with a consistent product, with controlled shrinkage and medium-to-fast drying that shortens waiting times before laying the floor covering.

Its consistent particle size distribution and cement content prevent volume loss and drying shrinkage. It reaches high strength (C25-F5 to EN 13813) and is suitable over underfloor heating panels, on any slab with or without insulation, and over ISOLCAP and POLITERM® lightweight subfloors.

It is mixed to an earth-damp consistency in a cement mixer, a continuous mixer or by hand (about 0.53-0.63 gal (2.0-2.4 L) of water per bag). It is walkable after 14 hours and, up to 1 5/8 in (4 cm) thick, can be covered with ceramic after 48 hours, natural stone after 72 hours and wood after 7 days.

Reaction to fire A1fl; thermal conductivity λ 9.36 BTU·in/(h·ft²·°F) (1.35 W/(m·K)) (tabulated, EN 10456).
Mixing water 7-8% (0.53-0.63 gal (2.0-2.4 L) per 66 lb (30 kg) bag); pot life 45 minutes.
Walkable after 14 hours; can be covered (≤ 1 5/8 in (≤ 4 cm), 73 °F (+23 °C), RH 50%): ceramic 48 h, natural stone 72 h, wood 7 days.
Consumption 8.8 lb/ft² per inch of thickness (17 kg/m² per cm).
Minimum thickness: 1.18 in (3 cm) bonded, 1 5/8 in (4 cm) floating.
66 lb (30 kg) bag; pallet of 48 bags (3,175 lb (1,440 kg)).
