ECAP® WOOL

PREFINISHED ROCK WOOL PANEL, FOR THERMAL INSULATION SYSTEMS

ECAP® WOOL is the prefinished rock wool board for external insulation where fire safety matters: it is non-combustible (Euroclass A1) and meets the fire-reaction requirements of fire brigade guidelines for façade insulation.

Rock wool is also highly breathable (μ 1) and improves the sound insulation of the wall, with a thermal conductivity of λD 0.25 BTU·in/(h·ft²·°F) (0.036 W/(m·K)). It arrives on site with the fiberglass mesh and the first coat of smoothing mortar already applied in the factory, plus punched holes for the anchors: fewer operations, shorter times and consistent quality. The system is completed with ECAP® ADP and the ECAP® finishes.

Board 23 5/8 × 47 1/4 in (600 × 1200 mm) (7.8 ft² (0.72 m²)) with straight edges; prefinished with about 0.118 in (3 mm) of cement smoothing mortar and alkali-resistant fiberglass mesh 4.7 oz/yd² (160 g/m²) with overlaps; punched holes for anchors.

Compressive stress at 10% ≥ 2.9 psi (≥ 20 kPa); tensile strength perpendicular to faces ≥ 1.5 psi (≥ 10 kPa).
