SMARTBLOCK® B.50.300

ULTRA-LIGHT BLOCK FOR MASONRY

SMARTBLOCK® B.50.300 is a solid ultra-light block (18.7 lb/ft³ (300 kg/m³)) made of cement and POLITERM® BLU / BLU FEIN virgin EPS beads coated with the E.I.A. additive. It weighs only 33 lb (15 kg), is cut with a simple saw and is laid with MALTA BLOCK 600 thermal mortar: walls go up quickly, with little waste and no thermal bridges at the joints.

At 19 5/8 in (50 cm) thick it builds single-layer insulating infill walls, with no additional insulation layer: the plastered wall reaches U 0.027 BTU/(h·ft²·°F) (0.153 W/m²K), a phase shift of 22.5 h and a calculated sound insulation of Rw 51.9 dB. Reaction to fire A2-s1,d0, CE marked to EN 771-3.

NOTE
  • Nominal dimensions: 19 5/8 × 19 5/8 × 7 7/8 in (500 × 500 × 200 mm) (L × W × H); tolerance D1; solid block (0% voids).
  • Density: 18.7 lb/ft³ (300 kg/m³) ± 10%; block weight: 33 lb (15 kg); compressive strength > 58 psi (> 0.40 N/mm²) (category II).
  • Thermal resistance of the block: 35.5 h·ft²·°F/BTU (6.250 m²K/W); equivalent thermal conductivity 0.55 BTU·in/(h·ft²·°F) (0.08 W/(m·K)).
  • Plastered wall (0.591 in (15 mm) plaster per side): U 0.027 BTU/(h·ft²·°F) (0.153 W/m²K); R 37.1 h·ft²·°F/BTU (6.536 m²K/W); periodic transmittance Yie 0.00088 BTU/(h·ft²·°F) (0.005 W/m²K); phase shift 22.5 h; attenuation factor 0.031.
  • Calculated sound insulation: Rw 51.9 dB.
  • Reaction to fire: Euroclass A2-s1,d0 (EN 13501-1); μ 12; specific heat 0.33 kcal/kgK.
  • Wall: 10 blocks/m²; mass 31 lb/ft² (150 kg/m²) (excluding plaster).
  • Pallet: 24 blocks, approx. 802 lb (364 kg), 40 1/2 × 40 1/2 × 50 in (1030 × 1030 × 1260 mm).
