ULTRA-LIGHT BLOCK FOR MASONRY

SMARTBLOCK® B.15.300 is a solid ultra-light block (18.7 lb/ft³ (300 kg/m³)) made of cement and POLITERM® BLU / BLU FEIN virgin EPS beads coated with the E.I.A. additive. It weighs only 9.9 lb (4.5 kg), is cut with a simple saw and is laid with MALTA BLOCK 600 thermal mortar: walls go up quickly, with little waste and no thermal bridges at the joints.

At 5 7/8 in (15 cm) thick it is the choice for insulating linings, thermal bridge correction on pillars and beams and walls next to other buildings: the plastered wall reaches U 0.081 BTU/(h·ft²·°F) (0.462 W/m²K), a phase shift of 6.5 h and a calculated sound insulation of Rw 42.6 dB. Reaction to fire A2-s1,d0, CE marked to EN 771-3.

Thermal resistance of the block: 10.6 h·ft²·°F/BTU (1.875 m²K/W); equivalent thermal conductivity 0.55 BTU·in/(h·ft²·°F) (0.08 W/(m·K)).
Plastered wall (0.591 in (15 mm) plaster per side): U 0.081 BTU/(h·ft²·°F) (0.462 W/m²K); R 12.3 h·ft²·°F/BTU (2.165 m²K/W); periodic transmittance Yie 0.054 BTU/(h·ft²·°F) (0.306 W/m²K); phase shift 6.5 h; attenuation factor 0.662.
Calculated sound insulation: Rw 42.6 dB.
Reaction to fire: Euroclass A2-s1,d0 (EN 13501-1); μ 12; specific heat 0.33 kcal/kgK.
