PROTHERM LIGHT® FRP

COMPOSITE BOARD FOR PASSIVE FIRE PROTECTION OF STRUCTURAL FRP REINFORCEMENTS

PROTHERM LIGHT® FRP is the composite board that provides passive fire protection for FRP (Fiber Reinforced Polymer) structural reinforcements. FRP strengthening is very sensitive to high temperatures: without protection, a fire can quickly compromise its structural performance.

It combines a nanotechnological board with the PROTHERM LIGHT® fire protection plaster in a single 1 5/8 in (40 mm) element, with a thermal resistance of 15.9 h·ft²·°F/BTU (2.8 m²K/W) and a weight of only 2.3 lb/ft² (11 kg/m²), so it adds very little load to the structure being strengthened.

The 14 1/8 × 27 1/2 in (360 × 700 mm) boards (about 6.6 lb (3 kg) each) are easy to handle and install; see the installation manual.
